agreed re: the amount of work for the designers. "Info-graphics" are pretty slick but they're also pretty time-consuming. As far as the pages, these are what were posted on the Crain's site today. I'm sure they'll undergo other changes right up until the last possible minute when the new design is unveiled next week.

More graphics and less stories, still means lots of work. The pressure that this design would put on their current design team would be overwhelming and unsustainable, I should know, I worked there for seven years. BTW- these look like pages from several different prototype options, since none of the pages share any cohesive design structure or typographical elements.

Interesting article…let us hope the target audience of Katharyn Havens does not seek and find the photos she took of pianist Awadagin Pratt, as they will most certainly be disappointed.

Katharyn took the time to list quality standards (i.e. cropping). Now I ask you… how distracting do you think it will be for all who see Awadagin’s photos only to have their eyes drawn in-magnetized-by the phone books she had the premier pianist sit on? Cropping-is this not photography 101?

If I were a business in quest of a professional-unfortunately-Havens would not be an option. As a Pratt enthusiast-I’m dishearten.

Cindy - I thought the opening ceremony was FANTASTIC!! I've been telling people at work all day that if they didn't see it, they should find it on the web or watch for a re run. Parts of it were so beautiful, I found myself actually getting emotional!! Never seen anything like it.

p.s. - I paid no attention to the commercials ; )

I love the mountains
I love the clear blue skies
I love big bridges
I love when great whites fly
I love the whole world
And all it's sights and sounds
Boomdiata, Boomdiata, Boomdiata, Boomdiata

I Love the ocean
I love real dirty things
I like to go fast
I love Egyptian Kings
I love the whole world
And all its craziness
Boomdiata, Boomdiata, Boomdiata, Boomdiata, "BOOM"

I love tornadoes
I love arachinids
I love hot magma
I love the giant squids
I love the whole world
Its such a brilliant place
Boomdiata(rest of song)
