Rockford Toolcraft Inc., which makes metal stamping dies and heavy gauge equipment for customers largely in the trucking and agricultural industries, is adding 41,000 square feet of space to its plant at 5455 11th St.
It’s Rockford Toolcraft’s fourth major expansion for the 11th Street site since the company opened it in 2001. When complete, the company will have more than 315,000-square-feet at its two locations — Rockford Toolcraft has more manufacturing space and its headquarters at 766 Research Parkway — and employ about 280.
Rockford Toolcraft opened in 1976 with just two employees in just 500 square feet of space at 2323 23rd Ave.
