Anderson endorses Obama

Rockford native and former Congressman John B. Anderson (pictured here debating Ronald Reagan during the 1980 presidential campaign) has ENDORSED Barack Obama for president.
Anderson served 20 years as a Republican in Congress, half of them as a staunch conservative and the rest as an increasingly outspoken advocate of liberal reforms. In 1980, he unsuccessfully sought the GOP presidential nomination and then ran as an independent against Reagan and Democratic incumbent Jimmy Carter.
Anderson, who will be 86 years old next month, resides in Florida.
