Looking ahead

The plan here at Applesauce World Headquarters for coverage of balloting on Super Duper Mega Awesome Orgasmic Tuesday, Feb. 5, is exciting, to put it mildly.
Through much of the day and long into the night, I will be “live blogging” the goings-on. That is, I’ll provide a steady stream of news and insights gleaned from television and the Internet — stuff that goes beyond mere vote totals to give you perspective on the meaning of it all.
Sure, you could try to replicate this effort on your own, but why bother? Let’s face it. I’m a highly-trained professional, and you’re just a rank amateur. I know where to look for the inside skinny; you don’t.
But, hey, I’m glad to be of service to you. No, really, I am. It’s the least I can do to advance the cause of democracy in America.

Pat, what will be the fallout if Hillary wins big in Florida? Will that be seen as a blow to Obama, or a mere bump in the road?

Bob: Florida is supposed to be meaningless. The Democratic Party stripped Florida of its delegates when the state party scheduled its primary before Feb. 5. The candidates all agreed not to campaign there (just as they did in Michigan), but Hillary has fudged a bit on that pledge. A Hillary victory in Florida would be tainted at best.
