Why does the Army hate our troops?

And why aren’t the presidential candidates making a big stink about stuff like THIS?

Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

It’s ironic how this administration parades the military (literally) in front of the voters constantly and is forever preaching that if you disagree with their policies you’re “not supporting the troops”. Then, when “the troops” need basic fair and equitable treatment they turn a blind eye towards them.

I hear ya, Hoke. The worst kind of “support” of the troops takes the form of backing the ill-advised war in which they are killed and maimed by the thousands. But the pseudo-patriots argue that support of the troops requires support of their “mission.” Much the same kind of nonsense was used against Abraham Lincoln when, as a member of Congress, he publicly opposed the U.S. war against Mexico in the 1840s.
