Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Ten thousand years?

Obama makes the exact point on 60 Minutes last night… he would have to have the options for staying open to him if the strategic situation called for an extended deployment. So, 10 or 10,000 years for stability in a region is not just a McCain statement. Pat, are you for pulling out of Korea too?

The big difference between South Korea and Iraq is that the South Koreans want our troops in their country while the Iraqis, by every measure I’ve seen, don’t want our troops in their country.

Pat, there is anti american sentiement in South Korea. Just like every where else. Website Freekorea.us for more info. Occupation is only an issue when a democrat isn’t in the Whitehouse I guess. The damage in Iraq is already done, you can’t have them pull out now…Obama will make that painfully obvious to you next year when you stop drinking his kool-aid.

So, you’re conceding the November election to Obama, right? You’re probably right—for once.

Obama? Perhaps he will win. It’s a shame we will never know how he’d actually have voted in 2002 to enter Iraq, since he wasn’t a US Senator back then. I think if Barack was in Hillary’s shoes, he would have voted the same way as McCain and Hillary. Furthermore, perhaps if the US had a backbone during Clinton’s years, Saddam would have had a little more respect for UN inspections….Saddam bluffs, we all lose.

Kaus, learn a little history. UN inspectors were in Iraq and could not find weapons of mass destruction, but were told to get out by the Bush administration because the U.S. was about to invade Iraq. It happened in early 2003 just before we went to war there. It was in all the papers.

Learn my history? I think if you dug a little deeper on the UN inspections, you would find that they did not have free access to go where they wanted. It was a big joke….just like food for oil….corrupt UN, Corrupt Saddam. Go drink some more Kool Aid Mr. Baseball.
