Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

A very good post. Perhaps it’s a combination of sexism and the far right wing hatred for Bill. I still can’t figure it out.

Nah…it’s the pitch and amber of her voice when speaking….and perhaps her rabid socialist values that we don’t like. Stay with Obama….he can unite people, he does speak well and although I don’t agree with his views, I will respect and listen to him.

“Rabid socialist values”? She’s no more socialist than Obama. I love the rhetoric from right-wingers about socialism. It’s so wacky. And what does the pitch and amber (what’s that?) of her voice have to do with anything? Methinks Kaus has a problem with women, as do so many conservative men. Did some woman kick sand in your face at the beach, big boy? Don’t worry. Johnny McCain will protect you. Johnny’s a tough guy. He’s promising “more wars” when he becomes president. He’s so manly.

I still love you Pat…thanks for the blog buddy and allowing us cynics to post.

2 ( Cynic) a member of a school of ancient Greek philosophers founded by Antisthenes, marked by an ostentatious contempt for ease and pleasure. The movement flourished in the 3rd century bc and revived in the 1st century ad.

That pretty much describes you, Kaus. 20 centuries behind the times.

Kaus, your cynical contributions are more than welcome here. And I hope you don’t mind the stern blowback you sometimes get from me and others. I’m sure you don’t, because you’ve indicated elsewhere on this blog that you’re a big fan of tough political inquiry.

Hokum.boy…ahem…..Hokum was stagecraft, gags and routines for embracing farce. That explains your arguments very well too. Contempt for ease and pleasure is a cynic? Perhaps the Roman Empire may have still existed if there were more of us.
