McCain’s the ‘expert’ on Iraq?

Well, NOT REALLY.
UPDATE: McCain was against torture before he was FOR IT.

Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

The Daily Kos…your source of de facto accurate reporting mentions Admiral Mullen as one of it’s sources. Please note that this same Admiral Mullen is on record as saying “that while he does not envision permanent U.S. bases in Iraq, “vital interests in the region and in Iraq require a pragmatic, long-term commitment that will be measured in years, not months”….at his senate hearing. So who is the expert? Obama? Ha ha ha.

Obama was smart enough to oppose this stupid war from the beginning. Ha, ha, ha.
3. Kaus | February 14th, 2008 at 7:53 am
Obama never got to vote on the stupid war…just grandstanding.

Obama never had inside access to review intelligence reports on the situation either. Of course the intelligence reports were filled with misleading statements and lies….so maybe Obama is the smartest lawyer to lead our nation in a new direction! This has to be the most memorable and exciting presidential race in the last 100 years. Pat, I hope you don’t go insane trying to keep up with all this news. You still are a good man and thanks again for your insight.

You’re welcome.

I’ve been out of town and need to catch up. Pat had an insight????

Pat has great insight….but perhaps needs to take his blood pressure meds after the last couple of posts.

Michael: Yes, I had an Insight. Unfortunately, now I have a Comcast.
(A little cable humor there.)

Kaus-I consider tweaking Patrick to be one of life’s rare pleasures and he shows no hesitation,as you can see, in response.

When I was a wee lad, I fondly recall peeing my diapers every time he came on the news cast to give us his commentary of Illinois and Rockford events. He hasn’t aged much I see.

Kaus and Mike: You guys are talking about me as if I’m not here. (It reminds me of the time that Barbara Walters and Nancy Reagan prattled on and on about Ronnie as if he wasn’t sitting there with them. Poor guy. He already was around the bend. I thought the ladies were insensitive to his condition.) But you two deserve credit for courage. Not many people would be so eager to do battle with someone of clearly superior intellect. (Of course, John McCain will show the same courage when he debates Barack Obama.) One more thing, Kaus, I have, in fact, aged a lot since those TV days when you were a wee lad. You don’t still pee in your diapers, do you? You probably don’t even wear diapers anymore. Those things are strictly for babies and geezers like me.

Courage? I’m just venting to your well writ rants….I feel a cleansing effect after I do it. It may never happen, but it would be better than my 5th Birthday if I could get the Living Legend to admit he was wrong on a single post. Cheers.

If Obama was so opposed to the Iraq War, as he says, then why did he endorse and contribute to Joe Lieberman over Ned Lamont in the Democratic primary for senate in Connecticut in 2006.
Lieberman not only favors the war in Iraq, but wants to invade Iran, and allow the CIA to torture people it picks up.
After Lieberman lost the primary, Obama withheld endorsing Lamont until just a week or so before the election.
Obama is a flimflam man on the war.
