Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Are Democrats closing the God gap?

Based on the plagarism charge from Hillary’s camp, I wonder if that cute picture of Obama praying was a memorized Rev. Martin Luther King speech, or really from his heart.

Oh, yeah. The great plagiarism scandal. What a crock. Hillary’s people must be desperate. Duvall Patrick, the guy whose rhetoric Obama borrowed, says it’s all right with him. This is the silliest issue of the entire campaign. John McCain flips and flops all over the place, and we’re supposed to be concerned about Obama echoing the valid sentiments of his friend and fellow Democrat Duvall Patrick. What nonsense.

Nonsense….and we have another 8 months to go…You defending Obamaphilia….the rest of us taking pot shots.

The sad part of this post is that we still have a religious litmus test in the country for any candidate running for President and it’s getting worse. While we’re making strides in nominating a Black or a woman, it is still not possible in the United States, a secular nation, for a non-Christian or an atheist to be the candidate of either of the two major political parties. At least not someone who is open about it. I’m sure that of all our Presidents, at least one didn’t truly believe in God, but would not say so publicly.
