Comments on: You can always count on Republicans to play the patriotism card

Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don't say you weren't warned. By the way, this blog's name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, "All politics is applesauce."

Well ya know you have some far left moon bats in your party that are ashamed of our Country and are hanging out with the likes of Chavez et.al. So the Deomcrats have a very confusing brand to sell as being patriotic. Deomocrats cannot possibly think they can please 100 percent of the voters. Pick a brand....then market it.

The Republican brand in the last 25 years means being Christian, Hawkish, and good for the economy. The DNA code for patriotism is dying for one's country. Whether that image is reality, I will not try to defend.

I still remember Teresa Heinz Kerry standing up for her hubby and his war medals with her un-american accent but gaining no traction because she has no credibility as an American Patriot brand...nor her husband.

I think the marketing of the 'hope' brand is clever and appears to be working, even with Mrs. Obama's slip of the tongue.

This is as big a controversy as Obama's alleged plagiarism. Yawn!
By the way Pat, you progressives are so sensitive. Someone questions a liberal's judgement and the howls of protest about patriotism begin.
Methinks thou doth protest too much.
