Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Bush’s approval rating at only 19%

Wow!  I didn’t think Bush’s numbers could get THIS LOW. I figured his bedrock base would hold him as high as 25 percent. Not so.

This means he’s earned himself a place not only in history but also most bar trivia contests as the President with both the highest AND lowest approval ratings. 90% and 19%.
    Way to Go, Georgie!!!

Pat- Please research the American Research Group. They should not be confused with America’s Research Group. The validity of their polls may be biased or inaccurate.

Dan: American Research Group is a polling outfit that’s been around for about 23 years. Its surveys appear regularly in the mainstream press and at such reputable Web sites as pollster.com. I notice that ARG’s polls sometimes are labeled “outliers” — which means their numbers are at odds with those of two or more other pollsters. America’s Research Group, a different company altogether, is a market research firm. One of its principals, Britt Beemer, is coincidentally a casual acquaintance of mine from way, way back. Getting back to ARG’s poll on Bush, I’m a little skeptical, upon reflection, that W’s numbers are really hat low. I’ll believe it when I see some other poll with similarly low scores. Suffice it to say, however, that Bush is a pretty unpopular president. ALL the polls confirm that, even the surveys commissioned by W’s pals at Fox News.
