Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

The New York Times totally blew this story. There should have been no reference at all to the possibility of any romantic involvement with the lobbyist, unless the paper had concrete proof. The sex angle of this story is now overshadowing the doing the bidding of a lobbyist angle, and McCain is actually benefitting from that. The far right is now coming to McCain’s defense against the big, bad, liberal New York Times. Some editor should be in hot water.

Mr. B: You’re not the only liberal who feels that way. It was not the Times’ finest hour. On the other hand, the story truly damages McCain because it tarnishes his image as a political reformer. This story will play out over a long period, and it won’t be to McCain’s benefit.
