Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

It is abou time that a major candidate running for president actually acknowledges the struggle LGBT people have had. Where is John McCain’s ad?

Obama is gutsy! If McCain would put an add out, it certainly wouldn’t be to promote the memory of Stonewall. I think the Gay Pride movement can do better than stirring up the memory of gay bars, mafia connections, illegal liqour licenses. Stonewall won’t buy the sympathy of voters. There are more legitimate gay rights causes.

Another Sister Soulja moment for Barack. In South Carolina when he needed African/American votes he threw gays and lesbians under the bus on his gospel tour with four minister/performers who compared gays and lesbians to murderers and prostitutes while campaining for Senator Obama. Then last month after securing the black vote he critiqued the community for it anti’semitism and it’s homophobia. This is of course after he used that homophobia to help him win. Actions speak louder than words. Senator Obama pitted one group against another. As James Thurber said, “you can look it up”
