Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Voters in my own age cohort, 65 and older, have messed up what otherwise was a great day for Barack Obama in today’s primaries.

Obama carried the under-65 vote in all four states — Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont — but Hillary Clinton did well enough among the fogies to win the popular vote in Rhode Island and probably Ohio.

Yes, my predictions of yesterday appear likely to have been right on the money — Clinton carrying Ohio and Rhode Island, while Obama wins Texas and Vermont (as things stand now shortly after 9 p.m.).  But I would prefer to have been wrong.

UPDATE: Suddenly, Texas is looking a little iffy.

My position on that issue is…uh…uh

POSTSCRIPT: THIS POLL shows that Republicans like Barack Obama almost as much as they like McCain.

No matter what happens today, the numbers just don’t add up for Hillary

Marc Ambinder DOES THE MATH.

POSTSCRIPT: Jonathan Alter offers HIS MATH, too, and it doesn’t look good for Clinton.
