Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Both parities are for free trade when it serves their purposes and against it when it does not. The same goes for government spending. Each party wants to spend and many times waste tax dollars. They just want to do it on different programs and projects.

One more comment. By far, the biggest waste and corruption in federal government spending comes from the military and defense department. But for some reason, this is a sacred cow for both parties. The reports on this concerning the Iraq War should be a major scandal, and those reports are coming from government watchdog groups. But they always get scant attention from lawmakers and the public. If it were to happen to the same degree in any other government agency, it would be a major campaign issue.
