Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

Freakonomics!!!! I still say SNL had something to do with it. Pat thinks Obama is God incarnate who shall never lose another primary. Joe Klein does have a mental illness though…he actually likes Bush!

I wish you would follow along more closely, Kaus. I didn’t say Obama won’t lose another primary. He might well lose in Pennsylvania and perhaps elsewhere. But even if he does, it’s unlikely that Hillary will catch him in terms of states won, delegates and total votes. As for Joe Klein, he’s often critical of Bush, sometimes even sharply so. But he’s also often in error with respect to facts, as was the case in the item to which I linked. Klein’s a good writer, but his intellect is not so keen and his sloppiness is egregious.

Let me clarify my contention that “Klein’s a good writer…” I meant that purely with respect to style and flow. He’s not a good writer in the general sense if his information is wrong or poorly thought out.

If the screwed up Democratic Party has to rehold Michigan and Florida primaries (and they will), your man Obama is in trouble. And let’s face it, your democrat loving lemmings watch and follow SNL, get over it.

“(Y)our democrat loving lemmings watch and follow SNL, get over it…” Wow. What brilliant powers of argument. How can I compete with that? Let me try: Actually, I don’t watch SNL (mainly because it ceased to be funny about 15 years ago). So, I guess I’m not a “democrat loving lemming,” whatever the hell that is. By the way, Kaus, the “screwed-up Democratic Party” somehow has become the party of choice of far more Americans these days than that efficient, competent, visionary Republican Party. According to the latest Pew Research Center poll, and by margins ranging from modest to huge, Americans think the Democrats can do a better job than the Republicans in dealing with foreign policy (by a margin of 5 percentage points), Iraq (10 points), the economy (19 points), the environment (44 points), immigration (5 points), government reform (25 points), energy (34 points), taxes (12 points), education (29 points), health care (30 points), even “improving morality in this country” (10 points). Gee, how did Americans become such a bunch of lemmings?
