Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

THIS is a pretty clever little trick: Embarrass people into voting.

Aussie have another way of doing it, compulsory voting.

If you read some of the stats you’ll see that the voting turnout BEFORE the law was enacted still put ours to shame.

If you goad people not interested in voting to vote, I’m sure the polls will point to the Democratic party? You surely don’t want Limbaugh lovers voting right?

As long as the elections aren’t rigged I don’t care who votes as long as they vote.
As far as Limbaugh lovers voting , why not?
Kaus, everyone doesn’t think the way you do. Some are actually comfortable with the idea of a democracy.

Of course I believe in a democracy….but there isn’t a true definition of that means exactly. Thank God the USA has protection of minority rights from you doofus democrat party voters that would let anyone vote that has a heart beat but not a brain.

You you believe in a democracy in which only the people you deem worthy may participate?

    Excuse me,,,,

    That should read:

“So, you believe in a democracy in which only the people you deem worthy may participate?”

Let me remind you once again, Kaus, there is no such thing as the “Democrat Party.” If you wanna hang around with us smart kids, you’re gonna have to act smarter and quit sounding like some Limbaugh dittohead. It’s very unbecoming.

I appologize for my deliberate and demeaning posts. The term “democrat party” has been used to irritate the democratic party for over 70 years and is still not an accepted terms by democrats…imaagine that. However, to stay to the point, no I don’t think everyone should vote.

Kaus, if you were the one to make the list of criteria for voting eligibility. What would it consist of?
Or, if you were to list the factors that would prohibit one from voting, what would they be?
