Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

When Democratic New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was found to have patronized hookers, he was quickly hounded into resignation — and rightly so.
When Republican U.S. Sen. David Vitter (above) Â was found last year to have patronized hookers, he was greeted upon his return to the capitol with a STANDING OVATION at a GOP Senate caucus. None of his colleagues demanded his resignation, and he’s never tendered it.
My question: Why the difference?
Just asking.

Trailing in states won, popular votes, delegates and money, Hillary Clinton’s ONLY AVAILABLE STRATEGY is to tear down Barack Obama.
I still would vote for her over John McCain in November, but my commitment in that regard is rapidly weakening as she and her handlers further disgrace themselves.Â

THIS GUY says the First Amendment allows for “a fair amount of church-state mingling.”
I’m not sure I agree with his take on the matter, but the points he makes are provocative.
POSTSCRIPT: THIS POLL from last summer shows that most Americans are wildly ignorant of the historical facts about the Founding Fathers, religion and the Constitution.
