Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Pat-What does it tell you when the leading Democratic candidates for President try to deny that they are what their voting record would indicate, i.e., Liberal, while the Republican candidates embrace the title of Conservative?

It tells me that they’re trying to change the language of politics — you know, substituting “progressive” for “liberal,” which has been demonized by the right-wing zanies. It kind of reminds me of when the Reagan administration insisted that its tax increases were no such thing; rather they were “revenue enhancements.”
