Two war heroes differ on surge ’success’

John McCain and Chuck Hagel are both decorated veterans of the Vietnam War and Republicans in the U.S. Senate, but they sometimes disagree on matters of policy.
McCain, a staunch supporter of the war in Iraq, says the U.S. military surge of the past year has been a big success. Hagel BEGS TO DIFFER, arguing that it’s wrong to “dismiss” over “900 dead Americans since the surge” began as “success.”

i have tremendous respect for Chuck Hagel. How bout an Obama/Hagel ticket? But from what I understand, Hagel would not do it.
