Well, it turns out that Obama’s “black separatist church” is nothing of the sort

Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

Big deal….these liberal dem preachers speak at the Church 20 years later. Doesn’t excuse what Wright said….kool aid drinkers….shameful.

The point here is that Obama’s church is NOT a black separatist church, as some nitwits have labeled it. What does “liberal dem preachers” have to do with it? You keep changing the subject, Kaus.

What does liberal dem preachers have to do with it? Let me answer it directly….If you are an Obama supporter (the preachers in the video), then you are willing to rationalize just about anything. You haven’t proven to anyone with a brain that this is not a black seperatist church. Sorry to hurt your feelings.

OK, Brainiac. Since it’s hard for me to prove a negative, you prove to me that it IS a black separatist church. It’s part of a denomination that is overwhelmingly white. It has white preachers in its pulpit at times. White folks are cordially invited to attend. And it’s most famous congregant, Obama, is half white. That doesn’t sound like black separatism to me. But apparently you know better. I await your proof.

Apparently you will go so far as to endorse and rationalize Rev. Wrights sound bytes. You are hopeless on this subject. But I will do my homework like a good little Cunningham blog reader should before I write anymore comments. Since it is near dinner time, I may have a glass of wine (not Kool-Aid) first.

Ok…I did my homework…you didn’t.
1. Obama throws his white grandmother under the bus numerous times. He rejects his white upbringing apparently?
2. Part of a denomination mostly white? So what. We are talking about a church that was mostly black. It is labeled as the largest African American church in Chicago.
3. Just because it is part of a denomination doesn’t guarantee that a church leader won’t stray on the pulpit. The UCC uses four words to describe itself: “Christian, Reformed, Congregational and Evangelical.” The church’s diversity and adherence to covenantal polity (rather than government by regional elders or bishops) give individual congregations a great deal of freedom in the areas of worship, congregational life, and doctrine.

By the way, Kaus, I have NEVER endorsed or rationalized Rev. Wright’s sound bytes.

If you aren\’t endorsing Rev. Wright\’s sound bytes, than you can\’t endorse his Church either….which you did.

I endorse no church, Kaus. I’m an agnostic.
