THIS would be funny if the subject weren’t so tragic.

Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

Bush’s comments should outrage the parents of all who have been to Iraq. Bush had his chance during Vietnam. What did he do? He joined the National Guard which every draft-eligible male at the time knows was simply a way of avoiding service in Vietnam. It was also extremely difficult to get into the Guard at that time without knowing someone who could pull some strings.
This guy is an insult to the military and to John McCain.

Mr. B, you left out the part about Bush skipping out on the National Guard. He was the classic chickenhawk — all for the war, as long as somebody else did the fighting.
