Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

What a sad commentary about our country. The Jeremiah Wright thing won’t go and it’s a complete non-issue. I’m voting for the candidate, not his pastor or his church.

Not me. I’m voting for McCain, because he has such wonderful spiritual advisers as John Hagee, Tim LaHaye and Rod Parsley.

It won’t be long before we read that Obama attended that madrassa in Jakarta with Bat Boy!

It’s a non-issue for both of you, as it is with my daughter, because you are so committed to his candidacy that you fail to see any short comings in Obama.
It’s a non-issue for me because he has a 95% liberal voting record. He’s Dick Durbin with bigger ears.
It is an issue for those who have not made up their minds.
I have changed churches-not faiths-when I have had issues with parish priests. I have walked out of the Cathedral when the Bishop went on one of his Cafeteria Catholic rants.
It doesn’t take that much courage to make a point.

I have to agree with you Mike. His association with Rev. Wright is an issue with me and the sidestepping he’s been doing since this all started is more than troubling. I voted for him in the primary ( a last minute decision ) and, if he’s the Democratic Candidate, will vote for him in the national election. Not because I’m 100% for him, but rather because I totally fear for our country if we are subjected to another “Bush” administration.
My two candidate choices dropped out ages ago and the two I’m left with aren’t the greatest, but I guess they’ll have to do. I do feel that this issue, although troubling, should not be the deciding issue to exclude him from getting my vote. His “95% liberal voting record” bothers me too. I wish it were 100%.

100%?-I’d be scared stiff of anyone that rigid, whether it be liberal or conservative.

    Ya know Mike,
    Durbin wouldn’t be a half-bad candidate.
He pretty much is who he is and doesn’t make any bones about it. I know he’s 99% too liberal for you but he’s straightforward, a hard worker, relatively honest, and knows the ropes.
Naaah, he wouldn’t have a chance!
