Bob Schieffer, the most underrated newscaster of our time –I’ll never understand why CBS dumped him in favor of Katie Couric as anchor of its evening news — offers HIS SLANT on the flag-pin controversy.

I hope I’m wrong about this, but the way I see it, Hillary Clinton will win both the popular vote and delegate split by slim margins in Tuesday’s balloting.
If that’s the case, she’ll likely stay in the race, but her chances of winning the nomination will remain exceedingly small.
A glance around the blogosphere shows predictions all over the place at this point.
Guesses in Clinton’s favor, randomly selected, are found HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE.
Barack Obama gets the nod, again randomly, Â HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE.
UPDATE: HERE’s an interesting analysis from a Philly blogger who expects Obama to win by 5 percentage points.

(NOTE: I’ve bumped this post from a few days ago back to the top here so that errors in the story, mentioned in the comments section, might be seen by those of you who read the previous version. I apologize for the misassumptions.)
Man, I can’t wait until John McCain gets his hands on THIS GUY.
He’s got a lot of nerve to write things like this:
“Our status as a moral leader has been damaged by the war, the subsequent occupation of a Muslim nation, and various issues concerning the treatment of detainees. At the same time, operations in Iraq have had a negative impact on all other efforts in the war on terror…”
Doesn’t he realize that to diss the war is to diss the troops and trample on the flag?
It’s an article of faith among true American patriots that any military action taken by any Republican president is ipso facto a noble cause. (I think that’s in the Declaration of Independence, isn’t it? Â Or maybe the U.S. Constitution.)
