Obama blasts Wright in no uncertain terms
April 29th, 2008 at 06:40pm Pat Cunningham
There’s a good overview HERE,  and various reactions can be found HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE.
As for me, I’m not sure if this is the beginning of the end of this issue as a political distraction. Nor can I yet guess whether Obama’s remarks today will help him in next Tuesday’s balloting in North Carolina and Indiana.
But one thing’s for sure, Obama’s break with his former pastor is complete and final.
POSTSCRIPT: If I read one more time that Obama has thrown Wright — or anybody else has thrown anybody else —  ”under the bus,” I’m going to hurl. It’s time for that expression to be thrown under the bus. It’s sooo last year, y’know?

Pat-you mean Indiana not Illinois.

Thanks for the catch, Mike. Correction made. All is well. Return to your humdrum life. I’ll take it from here.

So I guess that ABC debate really was on to something. Obama was the one dragging knuckles on this one. 20 years of knuckledragging I’d say.

Oh yeah, Bob, ABC was really onto something. That’s why little Georgie Stuffinenvelopes posed one of the dumbest questions in the history of presidential debates when he asked Obama if he thought Wright loves America has much as he does. Face it, Bob. People who get their undies in a bunch about Obama’s failure to dump Wright long ago would have found some other reason to vote against him. There are still millions of Americans who WANT to believe Obama is a Muslim, and nothing is going to deter them. There are still lots of people who can’t get beyond Obama’s middle name. They are obsessed with distractions and have almost nothing to say about Obama’s stands on the real issues. The Republicans are scared witless that Obama’s going to be the nominee. They want Hillary. She realizes this, which is why she’s borrowing from the GOP playbook in her campaign against Obama. It’s also why she’s playing kissy-face with the Mellon Scaife guy who spent millions trying to bring the Clintons down in the 1990s. But hey, Bob, have fun beating that Rev. Wright drum. Oh, and don’t let it bother you that some of us consider you hypocritical for not going after McCain on the matter of his coziness with hatemongering preachers like John Hagee and Rod Parsley.

We all owe Obama a debt of gratitude; He’s shown Bill Moyers to be the world’s worst journalist as seen in the Rev. Wright interview. Moyers couldn’t get on camera what microphones in Detroit and Washington were able to reveal.
Note: I’m not a McCain supporter but I’m open to any and all legitimate claims. I simply require proof. Please cite a source for your claims against John Hagee. I’ve heard that he is anti-Catholic. I haven’t seen any evidence for that claim but I suspect that you’re filling in blanks that are simply that–blanks.

Bob: Here’s a blast at Hagee from the Catholic League: http://www.catholicleague.org/release.php?id=1393

And you’ve seen Hagee’s response?

Excellent link Menlo Bob. I truly believe that Rev. Wright is being paid to provide these damaging blows to Obama by the Hillary campaign. All it takes is a nice appolgy statement from Rev. Wright, and this thing would still blow over. People can be forgiven for their outbursts of rage in my book. Of course Pat still won’t forgive William F. Buckley for something that happened 40 years ago (his antisemitic and racist comments in the early 60’s).
