If Hillary doesn’t quit this week, she’s daft

In the wake of the electoral disaster she suffered yesterday, Hillary Clinton has a Hobson’s choice:
She can drop her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination with whatever grace she can muster, or she can further sully the Clinton brand and hurt her party in the process.
I’ve been following politics for nearly half a century, and I’ve seen a lot of politicians do stupid, self-destructive things. But few would compare with the futility of Clinton persisting in her hopeless bid for the White House.
HERE’s a roundup of post-mortems on Hillary’s candidacy in the wake of Tuesday’s balloting.
UPDATE: Gen. Wesley Clark REPORTEDLY is urging Clinton to drop her candidacy.
UPDATE II: How in the world did the Chicago Tribune’s Michael Tackett come to this CONCLUSION?: He writes that Tuesday’s balloting “makes only one thing clear: The race goes on…”
Clear to whom? To Tackett and almost nobody else. The race might, in fact, go on, but it’s silly to say that’s “clear.” Quite the opposite is the case as America awakens this morning to new political realities.

If you are waiting for Hillary to do the right thing for the party, it’s going to be a long wait. Whatever she does will be seen only through the prism of what is best for the Clintons.

Tackett and Lanny Davis. What is up with Lanny Davis? If he had any credibility he lost it last night the way he behaved on CNN. I was glad to finally see a realistic outlook from the bulk of the panel at long last. I also don’t get why she chose to have Bill looming in the background this time during the speech. Like throwing gas on the fire.
Thanks Pat for keeping it real.
