Meaningless. Chris Matthews was annointing Obama the next JFK way back in Jan. after the Iowa caucuses. The media has been desperately in Obama’s favor for months. Can we get you a pillow, senator?

What’re you smoking, Millard? “The media has been desperately in Obama’s favor for months”? C’mon! Is that why they spent weeks relentlessly beating on the Rev. Wright issue? Is that why they’ve belabored the matter of flag pins? Bill Ayers? The “bitterness” speech? Is that why they’ve only now decided that Hillary can’t win, when it should have been obvious six weeks ago? If this is how the media act when they’re in favor of someone, I’d hate to see what they do if they’re against someone.

Oh Pat, let’s review some not-so-ancient history.
“I interviewed Lee Cowan, our reporter who covers Obama, while we were out yesterday and posted the interview on the web. Lee says it’s hard to stay objective covering this guy. Courageous for Lee to say, to be honest. ” — Brian Williams, January 2008
“I’ve been following politics since I was about 5. I’ve never seen anything like this. This is bigger than Kennedy. [Obama] comes along, and he seems to have the answers. This is the New Testament. This is surprising.” — Chris Matthews to NY Observer, Feb. 2008
“As I watched the SNL skit with my wife Jennifer, I laughed out loud and said to her; “You know, they kind of got it right. A lot of us in the media are in the bag for Obama.” — Steve Adubato, media analyst, MSNBC.
“As one who has assigned journalists to cover Obama at both Politico and The Washington Post, I have witnessed the phenomenon several times. Some reporters come back and need to go through detox, to cure their swooning over Obama’s political skill.”
– Jim Harris, writing for Politico.
Their words, sir, not mine.

The fact remains, Millard, that the media have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Obama in the past six weeks. They’ve also given John McCain a free ride.

Right. AFTER (as you like to keep pointing out) his nomination had become a mathematical likelihood/certainty.
