Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Grim diagnosis for Ted Kennedy

The “liberal lion” of the U.S. Senate has a malignant BRAIN TUMOR.

Say what you will about Kennedy, a man of great flaws, but there’s no denying that he’s been a workhorse lawmaker and has had a significant impact on the country.

The world wants to know: Can a tumor like that cause complete insanity for 40 years? Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment.

Senator Kennedy has had a long, eventful, and honorable career. I hope the prognosis is good so he can continue his work.

I think ‘long and honorable’ career is off the mark a wee bit, but I wish Ted well despite his troubled past and would prefer the twilight of his earthly life to end on a meaningful note. Instead of Pat’s “Spare me the tearful eulogies for conservative icon William F. Buckley, who died today at the age of 82″ when people he doesn’t like DIE.

I’m not rejoicing over his illness, it’s just that I can’t forget and forgive him for what kind of a low down person he was, and how he’s hurt the people in this country, and what he did to Mary and her family. It disgusts me that most leftists will lionize this character. A cancer on all of politics, and he finally caught what he had sown. He caused so much pain in his life, I wonder now what he is beginning to realize, now that he is about to face his maker. Reality is a b1tch. I can’t be a hypocrite and say what a nice person he was, and what a good senator he was for the country. His family and loved ones have my sympathy, and I wish him no physical pain…but Ted, you can’t buy, bully, or drink your way out of this.

My husband’s father died in 1999 of a brain tumor similar to Senator Kennedy’s. From the day he was diagnosed until he died was less than 5 months. I do not agree with the Senator politically and would never vote for him, but I also would not wish this disease on anyone. As for some of the really hateful, vicious commenters I’ve seen on other blogs who are hoping he will suffer like Mary Jo did… if my father in law’s experience is any indication, you will get your wish.
