Here’s one reason why Barack Obama won’t likely fare well in today’s Kentucky primary

We shouldn’t unfairly stereotype the rustics of Appalachia and thereabouts, but THIS FEATURE in today’s Chicago Tribune about some of the fine folks in Munfordville, Ky., is pretty scary.

Couldn’t you say that folks who vote Obama for the sole reason that he’d be the first black president are racist by voting against McCain because he’s white?

Sure, you could say that. But you’d be a pinhead to do so. C’mon, CR, get real. If you want to excuse the racism of those slack-jawed creatures in the Tribune piece, I can only pity you. Don’t know much history, do you?

Patrick dear boy! I’m not excusing anyone, just pointing out the hypocrisy of it all. The people in your article are extremely ignorant, yes, but folks who support Obama Strictly on his race are essentially saying they won’t vote McCain because he’s white. Imagine the outrage if there was widespread, vocal support for McCain based only on his being white! Obama’s race card would morph into a straight flush faster than a Jesse Jackson shakedown.
Lots of people will vote Obama because they want to see an African American in the white house, period, and damn the real (monumental) issues. Don’t you think all those like-minded Obamatrons out there, including high-profile supporters who openly tout their support of Obama based solely on his blackness (see Tom Hanks, etc, etc), are equally as ignorant?
And yes, I hereby give you full permission to refer to me as ‘pinhead’ rather then my initials ‘CR’ if you feel the need. I will wear it as a badge of honor. Anything Pat Cunningham calls me is pure gold!
(Pat, do you still do those editorials on WIFR in the post-Mroz era? I used to love those, your rug was WHACK back in those days! Ah, the memories.)

Henry, why would I want to pretend I’m someone else….I haven’t really made any personal attacks on anybody that posts here. If I counted the number of times ya’ll have called me an idiot, I think a few barbs from my end would make us even.
