Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Your “liberal” media in action (cont.)

It’s an article of faith among some folks that the mainstream media always give Democrats the breaks and Republicans the dickens.

It’s also a crock, as we see HERE.

Here are a couple of sites dedicated to actual research of this topic, showing statistics over time that blow your hypothesis out of the water, Patinator.

Can you cite any unbiased sources. The two given are not.

CR: The two links you provide are totally irrelevant to the topic of the mainstream media giving McCain kid-glove treatment. Lemme know if you find something that’s actually on-point.

Does 30 years of observing the obvious count?

Mike: We’re talking about the media and McCain.

“It’s an article of faith among some folks that the mainstream media always give Democrats the breaks and Republicans the dickens.”

Looks like a broader topic to me.

But the McCain-media thing is not in keeping with what you see as “obvious.” It’s obvious only to you and the other people who won’t face the facts. McCain, the greatest flip-flopper of our time, gets a pass from the media, and Obama gets endless grilling from the media about Rev. Wright and flag pins and other stuff. Does that fit your narrative about “obvious” media bias?

I know Pat. Poking the MSM in the eye just drives you crazy as you were (but one would assume no longer are) a card carrying member. I will grant you this, McCain is treated far more kindly than any other Republican in memory bcause of his “maverick” reputation which was obtained by running counter to his party on so many issues to the delight of the MSM.However, now the prelims are over (practically) and we’ll see whose thesis holds up. BTW-the only place I’ve seen mention of Rev. Wright and flag pins recently has been at this site.
