Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Mark DeMoss, a former chief of staff to Jerry Falwell and a public relations consultant to various preachers and organizations on the Religious Right, SAYS Barack Obama could win as much as 40 percent of the evangelical vote in November.

Toward that end (or even better), the Obama camp soon will LAUNCH what it calls “The Joshua Generation Project.”

So 40 percent of Evangelical voters may vote for Obama. An even more remarkable stat is that 60 percent of Jewish voters will vote for him. The man is teflon. Even if he supports the PLO, it doesn’t seem to matter.

And the fact that he DOESN’T support the PLO doesn’t seem to matter to you.

He served on a non-profit that funded the PLO run by Rashid Khalidi who also had a fundraiser for Mr. Hope. In addition to attending an anti-semitic chuch for 20 years….yadda yadda.
How do you know he doesn’t support PLO?….his actions in the past make it plausible. Of course now that Obama is trying to cater to the Jewish vote, he makes nice…..talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Pat, I’m sure you’ve well prepared yourself for the Khalidi snowball effect coming your way on this blog and on your favorite channel Fox News.

Kaus: Where and when has Obama ever expressed support for the PLO? So he served on a board with Khalidi. So what? When has he ever expressed sympathy for the PLO and its tactics?

Waiting for the grammatical guillotine to drop on an Obama backer. Waiting, waiting. Perhaps it’s like waiting for Godot.

All I know is that he had my vote a long time ago. He didn\’t need to launch a program for young evangelicals to do that. But since he has, I\’m all for it. We live in exciting times! Though I somewhat wonder about the 40 percent figure. Sounds a bit high, though I hope it\’s true.

Rachel…may Pat correct your grammar so that he too can be fair and balanced….

From the LA Times….Obama is a PLO sympathizer….throw the anti-semitic rhetoric of his church and his bonding with Khalidi…”danger danger Will Robinson”…is Obama related to Jimmy Carter on his Mother’s side?

From the LA Times…”While teaching at the University of Chicago, Khalidi and his wife lived in the Hyde Park neighborhood near the Obamas. The families became friends and dinner companions.

In 2000, the Khalidis held a fundraiser for Obama’s unsuccessful congressional bid. The next year, a social service group whose board was headed by Mona Khalidi received a $40,000 grant from a local charity, the Woods Fund of Chicago, when Obama served on the fund’s board of directors”.

My college instructor said I need work in that area. But the facts are the same. Americans are still stupid!!!

  • 16. hokumboy  |  June 9th, 2008 at 8:13 pm

You’re kinda right about one thing, Wade. Americans ARE stupid at times. The last two Presidential elections proved that.

Yes! If only the Obama camp can just convince these young evangelicals that liberal judges and partial birth abortion are a GOOD thing!….he will lead them right into the “promised” land.
