Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

A nice smackdown on economic issues

Greg Anrig (NOT pictured above), a policy guy at the Century Foundation, does a slick job HERE refuting Time magazine’s lame review of Barack Obama’s economic plan.

In the process, Anrig also blows a loud whistle on the big oil companies.

    Great article.

“I don’t know much about economics” - John McSame er sorry McCain

Sen Mccain has forgotten more about the economy than Sen Obama has had a chance to see in his short resume. Which could be a problem! LOL

I personally like the Humble Old Man approach, refreshing to see someone confident enough to be self deprecating. As I said, put the two in real one on one debates with no moderator and let’s find out who knows what on all subjects. If Sen Obama can back up his speech skills with solutions, I will vote for him.

    McSame, very very witty.

I think the point of the Time article by the way, was that Sen Obama is promising “Real Change” in Washington and going back to the “Old” Playbook for the moves to make. Is that “Real Change” or “Old Ideas”?
It would be “McSame” for Mccain to do so, what is the name for it when Sen Obama mimics an older failed administration? Exciting, Bold and my favorite “Voting for Change”.

That guy in the photo putting the hurt on the guy flying through the air? That’s what Iron Mike DeDoncker would do to Kimbo Slice — whose endorsement remains a pretty important factor on this campaign.

Pat, you should be thankful for the evil oil companies.

The government can reduce our national debt with the 41 percent they collect on whatever profit you think they make. The governement should promote exploration and finding additional oil wherever it may find it to keep these taxes flowing into the hands of our congressman to support even more EARMARKS….

Earmarks that COULD go to feed millions of our poor and hungry but instead go into wasteful irrelevant spending projects. Oil companies make much more sense than using lotteries that entice those who can little afford it with a pipe dream of being a millionaire.

These oppresive taxes are also beneficial to solving our dependence imported oil and can be part of the solution for decreasing the belching of green house gases.
