From time to time, I’m given here to mocking some of the more exceedingly crazy rumors about Bararck Obama one sees flying around the Internet these days.
This effort has twice prompted me to use the headline “Obama Fathers Two-Headed Gay Terrorist Baby,” which I boosted from the Huffington Post.
Today, ever the scavenger, I bring you an item I picked up on some other blog that got it from some other site, where it no longer exists. It satirizes the kind of stuff that regularly circulates by e-mail among the lunatic fringe.
It reads:
“Obama is DEFINITELY a Martian, and therefore DEFINITELY NOT an American citizen. I know because I know someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who said they were almost positive they’d heard someone say so.”
Well, hell. That’s good enough for me. Let’s tell everyone we know.

Harry Truman first gained national fame when, as a U.S. senator, he CAME DOWN on profiteers during World War II.
We could use the likes of Truman in our government today, especially in light of a new DISCLOSURE by the BBC about tens of billions of dollars having been lost, stolen or not properly accounted for in Iraq.
One American lawmaker says we’re facing perhaps “the largest war profiteering in history.”

This is perhaps a bit unfair and overly simplistic. But it’s also kind of funny. And I’m sure we’ll see similar attacks on the Democrats:

As wacky as this ESSAY by Dr. Mary Grabar is, it’s the essence of circumspection compared with some of the comments that follow the piece.
There are some scary people out there, folks.Â
UPDATE: There’s a NEW POLL out today showing that Barack Obama is gaining among women. They’re probably all deflowered virgins. Right, Dr.Grabar?
UPDATE II: My crystal ball tells me that an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll to be released tonight will show that 59% of respondents say it’s more important to have a president who will focus on progress and moving America forward, versus 37% who would rather the president protect what has made America great. That sounds favorable to Obama.
