Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Has the Russert coverage been overdone?

Nice post. Hyperbole? In the media? Say it ain’t so!

But still, I can’t think of anyone who surpassed Mr. Russert in journalistic integrity and skill. Who else had the ability to seem like such a nice guy, while holding politicians’ feet to the fire?

Possibly. It’s what news people do when one of their own is in the news. They expect others to share their own occupational enthusiasms. It’s a symptom of being self-absorbed.
