The Cleland ad in question dealt with Cleland’s votes on a homeland security measures. It was FAR less than Democrats have said about it. See for yourself. If McCain harbors such feelings about Max Cleland why do you suppose John Kerry discussed the possibility of McCain being his VP?

One more thing: I guess the attacks on Cleland didn’t bother John McCain either. He voted against the Boxer amendment.

Yes, facts are facts. And the fact is that Obama DID VOTE to condemn the Petraeus ad, and then took a pass when your Republican friends declined to condemn scurrilous attacks on the military service of a triple-amputee from the Vietnam War. Using your logic, Bob, I guess you have no problem with those attacks on Max Cleland. I guess the folks at fair and balanced Fox News don’t either.

Spin it anyway you want. The claims made on Fox were accurate. Obama refused to vote against the resolution against the Move On anti-Petraeus ad. Facts are facts.

Bob: The fact remains that Obama’s vote for the Boxer amendment was a vote of condemnation of the MoveOn ad against Petraeus. It seems not to bother you that most Republican senators voted against a condemnation of smears against the military service of Kerry and Cleland. Moreover, Obama again condemned the MoveOn ad just this week. Obama has never endorsed, supported or praised the MoveOn ad. Quite the opposite, in fact. According to this CNN article, Senator Obama voted for the Boxer Amendment to the resolution– which included Max Cleland and Senator Kerry and did not pass– but when iit came to condemn the Move On adSenator Obama did not vote.
