Milestones coming up

My super-duper Applesauce software tells me that a couple of important waymarks lie just ahead: The 3,000th comment on this little blog likely will appear within the next few days, and my 1,000th post should come along by the end of summer.
What can we do to celebrate?
How about all you readers chip in and buy the Applesauce CEO a new hybrid car? Isn’t that the least you can do for such an environmentally-conscious seeker of truth?
By the way, Big Oil disdainfully calls those cars “mutants,” not “hybrids.” ( Heh, heh. Little energy-crisis humor there.)

Up here in Milwaukee we right-of-center bloggers get together at a local watering hole every month. It’s a lot of fun, very informal, with lots of good (and mostly non-political) conversation. Just an idea . . .

Tom: I might soon accept your cordial invitation. Jonah Goldberg isn’t going to be there, is he?
