Comments on: Bush to G8 leaders: “Goodbye from the world’s biggest polluter”; extremists wax ecstatic

Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don't say you weren't warned. By the way, this blog's name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, "All politics is applesauce."

What do you liberals want? A humming economy won't be found if we follow the g-8 accord. Letting oil prices rise slowly ala Obama won't cure the economy either. When cars run on wind energy, then you can all have the last laugh on this blog.

Typical. Bush made an asinine, smirky, smug comment -- and still got it wrong. Inauguration Day 2009 can't possibly come soon enough.

Maybe Bush THOUGHT he was in China. In that case he would be saying, "Goodbye" from the world's biggest polluter. It's possible. I seem to remember former VP Dan Quale going to the wrong China one time. Anything can happen. I just want to give Prez the benefit of the doubt. Wink. Wink.

Except the US isn't the world's biggest polluter--as anyone who has been to China can tell you. Air pollution has been declining in this country. I remember smelling and seeing foul factory air in Rockford. That hasn't been the case in years. CO2 is a necessary and naturally occurring gas. Greenhouses pump extra CO2 into them to enhance growing. Atmospheric CO2 is said to be elevated but CO2 has always been there and in varying amounts.
