Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don't say you weren't warned. By the way, this blog's name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, "All politics is applesauce."

Hey Pat, McCain also did NOT give an exact date for Obama to be in Iraq. Obama was not in Iraq on the dates he specified was he? But, Obama's itinerary for exact dates in Israel and Germany are available via the media which I will put money on are correct dates, I don't hear reporting on that carelesness here. Truly Amazing I believe is how you put it, I agree.

Obama did NOT give an exact date for his visit to Iraq in January 2006. He gave a date of departure for a trip that included various stops. We all know that he left for his current trip yesterday, but we still don't know when he'll be in Iraq. Until this morning, we didn't know that he had gone to Kuwait and Afghanistan.

Pat: If the best you can do is write me off as a right wing whacko for showing that Obama advertised the exact day of departure for his trip in January, I guess I can feel good that the facts of the matter are on my side. Fine when Obama does it, but buffoonish when McCain SPECULATES about Obama's current trip even though Obama himself told reporters on Wednesday he would be departing on Thursday. Will you print a retraction of McCain's SPECULATION if Obama does not go to Iraq Friday or Saturday, Jonah Goldberg would, and you both seem to have about the same mentailty as far as objectivity in journalism. McCain could have been intentionally throwing the dogs off the scent for all you know.

As far as terrorist endorsments for Obama, let's be logical, would they want Bush or McCain over Obama? No. Al Qaeda, Hamas, and North Korea have all voiced publicly for change if you do a little research and it ain't with a republican doing the changin, Obama was named directly. They are the whack jobs, not me.

Q- Mental Note, Obama came up with his agenda for the middle east by spending 2 days in Iraq in 2006, 1st time in Afghanistan is today at the last minute before election, and also has never sat down with Gen. Petraues. McCain has vistied 8 times and sat down with the guys on the ground over there on numerous occasions. Whether you all will grant him a slip up on Czechoslvakia or not, he can put your guy under the table on knowledge in Iraq and Afganistan which I imagine is why you need to go to the teleprompter comment for diversional purposes. How about the below for your "Master" of Foreign Policy? Sorry, I will take the Czech slip any day and I thought McCain was the only one capable of a flip-flop?

- And in perhaps the most seriously troubling set of gaffes of them all, Obama told a Portland crowd over the weekend that Iran doesn’t “pose a serious threat to us”–cluelessly arguing that “tiny countries” with small defense budgets can’t do us harm– and then promptly flip-flopped the next day, claiming, “I’ve made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave.” -

Funny, I thought a few hijackers with no specific country killed about 3,000 US Citizens and cost us in the trillions with a capital "T" a few years back? (Go ahead, call me Giuliani for invoking 9/11 Pat)

P.S. Look what happens when Obama loses the guy talking in his ear, he sounds like "W"!

Hmm...I read the piece linked to by Optimistic1 and it looks like Obama has announced the exact dates in January of 2005 that he will be visiting Iraq. Doesn't he know that it's 2008. Just another example of Obama living in the past. Enough of this I'm voting for John McCain.

Pat, the reason McCain does not know that Czechoslovakia no longer exist -- his right side teleprompter went out that day. :)

And why should McCain bring up when Obama is going to arrive in Iraq? When did it become his business to announce Obama's agenda?

Wait, I wonder if it has to due with the fact that McCain does not have a agenda.

Optimistic1: Valerie Plame's cover had already been blown and she was a public figure by the time she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair. Obama did NOT disclose the exact date of his visit to Iraq in that piece from his Web site to which you linked. Read it again, slowly and carefully. And that crap you're trying to peddle about Obama being the candidate endorsed by our enemy is typical of zany right-wingers. To whom are you referring when you speak of "our enemy"? You probably also believe Obama is or was a Muslim and was educated in a Muslim school. You forgot to remind us of his middle name, as if that has anything to do with anything. By the way, your guy McCain doesn't even know that Czechoslovakia no longer exists.

Pat:

A - Why would our enemy kill the candidate they have publicly said they want to win???

B - McCain is speculating just like the media has been for the last couple weeks and you are knocking him for it? How about Obama announcing the exact date for his departure for his January trip to Iraq on his own website? (See below) Same or different?

Barrack can announce the exact day, McCain says something speculative and he is an idiot. Reminds me of when Valerie Plame kept her low profile on the cover of Vanity Fair, but was brutally victimized by Karl Rove leaking her name. Sorry, Mr. Armitage was the leaker. I can't get the biased reporting out of my head on that one.
