Pat says, “Interesting thing, some of the guys I knew who went to Vietnam became the most militantly anti-war people of all my friends when they came back.” Exactly! (I know a bunch of them.) And some of the ones who avoided any form of service became the biggest hawks. Or should I say Chicken Hawks.

Gents: I was classified 1-Y in January 1964 and ever after because of asthma. They still could have drafted me, but only (as I used to joke) after elderly women and little children. I forget what the classification was for conscientious objection, but several friends of mine went that route. More than a few others were drafted, and several others went to Canada. Interesting thing, some of the guys I knew who went to Vietnam became the most militantly anti-war people of all my friends when they came back.

I had read that he had the other classification. And that Pat Buchanen was also 4-F because of a bum knee. Anyway, a 1-Y could have been resolved with an industrial strength enema. It would be interesting to look up the classifications again, since I thought something like 1-Y was a conscientious objector. I know 1-A was draft eligible, because that’s what I had after I cancelled my 2-S (student) deferment.

In reality, Limbaugh was classified 1-Y because he had “an inoperable pilonidal cyst” on his keester, where his brains are.

Actually, Maharushi El Rushbo was 4-F (disability). He was 4-F because he was overweight. And being a TRUE patriot, he made no attempt to lose the weight and enlist. You just can’t get more patriotic than that!

Craig: Aw, c’mon now, our honorable VP Cheney didn’t “dodge” the draft….he just got multiple “deferrments” because he “had better things to do.” Believe it or not, Maharushi El Rushbo used his own particular brand of convoluted logic to explain to his flock that there indeed was a difference. He always intended to serve his country, but by the time he was ready, the Vietnam war had ended! Thanks for making me laugh today!

Bob was talking about accomplishments of the VP. Just look at all of the accomplishments of Dick Cheney…..Well, keep looking. I’m sure they are there someplace. (Dodging the draft 5 times doesn’t really count, sorry. And shooting a judge isn’t even close.)

Since when are accomplishments important to your party of choice, Bob-O-Link? After all, your decider-in-chief was a mediocre C- student, bankrupted a few oil companies, and traded Sammy Sosa —all before you handed him the keys to the White House. And we all know what a mistake of Biblical proportions that has turned out to be, don’t we?
