Flash! McCain to pick Britney Spears for veep

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain, who’s recently shown a great interest in the pop chanteuse, likely will choose her as his running mate.

And why not? After all, they’re both big fans of President Bush:

OK! OK! Somebody’s going to point out that Britney Spears is only 26 years old, nine years too young to serve as vice president. But John McCain is very old, so it all evens out.

Maybe, though, Britney could be the next “new model” trade in for McCain. After all, she is the same age as Cindy was when he left his first wife Carol.

The latest McCain ad lumping Obama with Britney Spears and Paris Hilton is laughable. Even some Republicans are complaining about it and I think it will come back to bite McCain. Today McCain said he’s proud of the ad.

You’re right, Mr. B. I think McCain soon will regret this thing, if he doesn’t already. Using Britney Spears and Paris Hilton trivialized the presidential campaign and made McCain look petty and foolish. I, too, sense a lot of Republicans becoming disgusted, especially with this ad coming on the heels of the completely bogus crap about the wounded troops in the hospital. Hardly a day has gone by in the past two weeks without McCain and his camp coming up with total falsehoods or silly missteps. The Obama camp should exploit the Spears-Hilton theme every day for the next week or two, just to further reinforce McCain’s image as a sophmoric candidate. Another thing, I strongly sense that the media, McCain’s former “base,” are turning against him big time, though sometimes more in sadness than disgust. The poor guy has fallen in with the Rove crowd, and they’re going to ruin him.

Y\’know, she wouldn\’t exactly be the worst Vice President ever. I mean, she\’s no Jack Kennedy, but I\’d be willing to bet a five-spot that she can spell \"potato\" correctly. And, I sincerely doubt she would push for a war solely designed to boost the shareholders\’ equity of major oil companies and defense contractors.

I think that it’s interesting that Ms. Spears here is basically paraphrasing what Paul wrote in Romans 13:1-7.

I think a McCain - Spears matchup would be perfect. Both of them have had wild, deranged outbursts in public. And both tend to expose large portions of ugly, uncovered skin, as well. What more could a team want?
