So far, the McCain campaign has been extremely disappointing with the Paris Hilton-Britney Spears ad the worst example of his negative ads. I think Joe Klein has an excellent piece in the recent issue of Time comparing the two candidates positions on what they would do to improve the economy. Obama actually has a plan to rebuild the infrastructure of our country. While I don’t think it goes far enough, at least it’s something. I’m amazed the neither candidate has proposed a massive public works program that would rebuild our infrstructure and put people to work. It’s something we have to do anyway and it would boost the economy. In the short run it would add to the deficit, but it would still be much less costly than the Iraq War.

Right you are, Mr. B. Incidentally, I met one of your associates when I was picking up my daugher at camp the other night. Nice guy.

Strange, in that Obama seems to feel he needs to reply to these early jabs lobbed by McCain. One wonders how he will reply when the elephants start tossing roundhouse rights his way as the general election approaches. The fact that these silly early ads have knocked Obama off base does not bode well for the future. These displays of “Hyperpartisanship” are silly and are nothing more than an effort by both parties to distract from the real issues.
