Though I am an atheist, I do enjoy hearing from Christians that are positive. I listen to Joel Osteen’s podcast on a weekly basis, however, I hope his wife can find a better message to airline attendants.
I find nothing wrong with a good positive message, whether from someone of religion or a secular humanist. It is uplifting to hear someone that is positive about life, fellow man, and the direction we can take ourselves in this lifetime.
I find it interesting that people like Engle and Perkins are actually preachers. Or are they? I always thought the belief in Jesus Christ was based upon the positive message of love that comes with it, however, I find myself to be misinformed.
Perhaps, it is because I am an atheist that I miss the meaning of being a Christian.
If it means to run these mega-conglomerate cathedrals in the name of the Lord, but by putting my own name on them, I miss the point.
If it means by taking in millions upon millions of dollars, and then taking the broadcast network to Wall Street, the ultimate gambling casino, then I miss the point. And for the record, one well known evangelical made billions off of that. I just hope the same person helped those that are less fortunate.
If negative is the message these two people are willing to spew, so let them spew. It is nothing new from the evangelical movement. Nor, will it be anything that is going to stop anytime soon. This is what most evangelicals have come to know as the norm, and not the exception.
Godless everyone, and have a good day.
