The ground game vs. the TV game

FiveThirtyEight.com has an INTERESTING POST on the difference between Barack Obama’s ground game and John McCain’s TV game.
The point is that campaign money sometimes is better spent on field organizing than on television advertising.
Obama’s field operation (a small sample of which is represented by the photo above) is the most massive in the history of American politics.

Great idea. Talk about the ground game when your quarterback has a stuttering problem. Yesterday the problem was the other quarterback not being in the locker room. Tomorrow it’ll be something else.

What are you babbling about? You’re beginning to sound like Kaus. It’s called politics, Bob. Try learning a little about it.

Nervous? Obama has a huge lead in electoral votes. I’m not the least bit nervous. Obama is running strong in states with a total of 214 electoral votes, and has states with another 50 electoral votes leaning his way. If those numbers stay the same, that means he needs to pick up only six of the 94 electoral votes in the toss-up states to win the election. McCain can have all the electoral votes where he’s running strong or where the states are leaning his way, and he’d have to pick up 90 of the 94 electoral votes in toss-up states to win. Not bloody likely, friend.
