The nasty tone of McCain’s campaign is not his fault; the media have forced him into it

The word from such establishment pundits as Andrea Mitchell, Roger Simon, David Brooks and Howard Fineman is that John McCain is just a prince of a guy who’s been forced into unseemly campaign tactics by the liberal media and those low-life bloggers.
It’s a….it’s a darn….I’m sorry, but this situation is so tragic that I can hardly keep my composure long enough to address the matter. I’m afraid you’ll have to read about it HERE.

Yes McCain’s tone has changed. It happened around the time Russia invaded Georgia. Meanwhile Obama maintained his usual laid back approach until that act was exposed at an early evening event in Lake Forest, California last Saturday. In response Obama attended a vets gathering yesterday and pretended to act upset at something McCain said. Watch for more Obama displays of his newfound intensity.

Principles can be so damned inconvenient.
What can we draw from this? McCain was for having principles before he was against it?

Bob: You’ve got the timeline wrong. We’re talking about campaign nastiness that predates the Russia-Georgia conflict by weeks and months. Even the article to which I linked deals in part with punditry from before the Russian invasion of Georgia, which occurred only 12 days ago.
