Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. Lest we forget…the discussion about wealth began at the Saddleback Forum when Rick Warren asked what dollar figure signifies wealth. His question was understood to refer to taxation. Recent efforts by the Obama team have been made to avoid talking about taxes.

Once again, Bob, you’re completely wrong. The Obama camp, rather than avoiding talking about taxes, has been running this ad all week in battleground states:

Since I don\’t live in a battleground state campaign commercials are not something I have to deal with. I\’ll instead pay attention to the words the candidate say. The number of houses McCain has is not intended to be a comment on tax policy. It\’s merely meant to blame the rich for something or other. Marxism lite.

When Politico asked John McCain how many houses he owns he mumbled a response that indicated he didn’t know. Some have argued this as an example of McCain’s aging memory. The Obama campaign said the true number was 7 homes. Politico then corrected Obama by saying that the true number was 8. Thereby illustrating that the problem.

No Bob, it’s about McCain being so out of touch, that he can’t remember how many houses he owns. Also, he apparently the average American wouldn’t take $50 an hour to pick lettuce.

    OUT OF TOUCH.

LD–You’re right that McCain was out of touch on how many homes he owned. But the same can be said about the Obama campaign. They had lots of time to figure it out and ended up getting it wrong. Not a lot of confidence in either one.

How was the Obama campaign wrong? McCain does have 7 houses and apparently he may even have more than 7.

If you have are carrying 8 apples, doesn’t that mean you are also carrying 7 apples?

    Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

This is funny. The more the McCainiacs fuss about whether Obama was right or wrong on the number of homes, the longer this story stays alive and tarnishes McCain’s image. The more the McCain camp tries in vain to get mileage out of the so-called Rezko scandal, the longer the McCain homes thing stays alive. The more the McCain camp plays the POW card, the more they trivialize it. They’re the gang that can’t shoot straight.
