McCain’s new friend Hillary seems a bit fickle

In their recent ads, John McCain’s handlers have favorably featured Hillary Clinton more often than Mr. Straight Talk himself.
But I don’t suppose they’ll be spotlighting these comments from Hillary any time soon:

Read and weep the Rasmussen polls speak. Picking Chia Pet instead of Hillary will be the difference for the dems this year.

Dream on, Kaus. Obama is way ahead in electoral votes. National polls don’t mean much. Check this: http://www.pollster.com/
Besides, running mates very rarely make much of a difference in presidential races. But this year might be an exception if McCain picks Romney. That could hurt him.

It is time for Pat to make a stand on which poll he will use for all future debate. Shall Pollster.com be the gold standard? What happens at the end of the week if the regression analysis shows McCain leading?
BTW, Mitt will be the VP nominated….and Pat can shamefully hide his head in the Pawlenty sand once and for all.

Gotta admit, those McCain/Hillary ads are really effective. They’re credible because people remember Hillary saying those things in the debates. And we all remember how flatfooted Obama debated.

IMHO - Hillary just delivered her 18 million voters — and probably the election - to Sen. Obama … with one small passage: “Ask yourself: Were you in it for me? Or were you in it for” America?

Hillary gave more reasons to vote for McCain in the commercial than she did in tonight’s speech for Obama.

Kaus: You didn’t even read the link to Pollster.com, did you? If you had, you would understand that Pollster.com is not a poll. It’s a site where they combine and analyze all the major polls, especially state polls, and estimate the tallies of electoral votes. That kind of thing probably is a little too sophisticated for you to grasp, but us grown-ups can handle it. We recognize that presidential elections are won and lost one state at a time. Now, if you’ve read this far, go back to the beginning of this comment and read it all again, very slowly. And it’s all right if you move your lips while reading — whatever helps you understand.

Pat…I went to the site. I had statistics in college and received an A+….and I have also received six sigma training. I completely understand regression analysis. Did you know that all Polls use statistical sampling? Pollster is sampling polls instead of people. So what.
I mentioned Rasmussen….a poll that utilizes statistics. You throw it out and mention Pollster.com because the statistics show Obama with a lead.

Kaus: I referred you to Pollster.com because it deals with electoral votes, which are more important than national poll numbers. The fact remains that Obama is well ahead in electoral votes. He’s ahead by 84 electoral votes, according to Pollster.com. Even RealClearPolitics, which is much more conservative in its analysis of polls, has Obama ahead by 43 electoral votes. Let me know when you find a reliable source that shows McCain drawing close in electoral votes. I won’t hold my breath.

A more interesting ad might be the one that appears to leave the C and E out of CHANGE, as held up by audience members listening to Obama and therefor leaves the letters H-A-N-G hanging over his head.
Coincidence or incompetence?
