Palin is certainly a “change” from the Washingto and Chicago political insiders. She has run a business, been a mayor and a Governor, can kill and cook her own food, and raised a family.
Sounds like a competant, qualified person to me.

Oh, yeah. Killing and cooking your own food makes you an expert on issues of federal governance. Palin’s the least qualified vice presidential nominee since John W. Kern, who was William Jennings Bryan’s running mate on the Democratic ticket in 1908. In other words, she’s the least qualified in 100 years. But hey, she hunts and cooks, which apparently impresses the hell out of SNuss, else he wouldn’t have mentioned it.

If she had only been a community activist.

I notice that Palin’s son will be serving in Iraq whilst healthy-enough-Biden-football-hero was too sickly for Viet Nam and got a deferment for asthma. Lovely comparison.

Kaus: I, too, got a deferment for asthma during the Vietnam era. You want to make something out of it, punk?

I will gladly admit I did not join the military because I had no desire to. My big brother has made a life career out of the Navy so what!
I do not need an excuse to show why I did not join.
But I will always honor those who did choose to serve our country in that way. And I will always be proud of big brother, and worry when he gets deployed to Iraq again.

You are getting nasty in your old age Cunningham, the fellow made an interesting comment. At least Palin has experience as a CEO, running a town as Mayor, dealing with the corrupt conditions in that job and running a State. Just what the hell is it that Obama has run? And please don’t tell me he did anything in the Senate. And while speaking of experience, is it not MORE necessary to have a President with lots of experience than it is a VP?
People like you put crap in the paper like, McCain voted with the President 90% of the time! Wow, this is news? Was he not supposed to support his president?
How about Obama voted for the far left 100% of the time, when he was good enough to spend some time doing his Senate Job which was when????????????????????????????????

Bob Ham: You can’t have it both ways. You can’t admire McCain, who claims to be a maverick, and then laud him for supporting his president, especially when the American people overwhelmingly disapprove of that president. Funny thing, McCain’s voting record in favor of Bush has become stronger as Bush’s ratings have become lower. But now, as the election approaches, he’s awkwardly trying to distance himself from the Great Decider.
You also offer us this illogical and erroneous observation: “How about Obama voted for the far left 100% of the time, when he was good enough to spend some time doing his Senate Job which was when?” 1) Obama has missed far fewer votes than McCain in the past year; and 2) I defy you to prove that Obama has “voted for the far left 100 percent of the time.” That’s not true, and you can’t prove that it is, can you?
Besides, I can’t help but wonder what you would consider “far left.” Considering the positions you’ve taken over the years, that probably would cover anything this side of far right. You’ve never been one to recognize that there’s a wide middle in the political spectrum.
One last thing: you’re hardly the one to accuse anybody of getting “nasty.” I’ve seen too many of your letters and comments.
