Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

105th Congress 83.6% of 592 (Yeah, right!)

If you are going to complain about partisan bias, note that Obama’s two-year voting record is within 4% of perfectly Leftist. McCain has co-sponsored SEVERAL bi-partisan bills, and HIS voting record has not exceeded 90% of the party-line for more than a decade.
Sorry about the spacing on the stats, they didn’t transfer correctly.
Look carefully, McCain’s are to the left, Obama’s are on the right side. Or go to the source, and see them there.

George Carlin used to tell an old joke, “And now a partial score from the West Coast: Stanford - 29.” That’s makes as much sense as the pile of numbers in comments # 2, 5, and 7. “88.3% of 231 96% of 348″? What are your categories nitwit? That would be like saying, “John McCain’s rating is 37% and Obama’s is 45%.” And any rational person would say “Of what?”
Here SNuss, decifer this: 16, 3.14, 186,000, 5, 6.2, and 9**2.

If I understand SNuss\’ numbers correctly, what he is trying to tell us is that 83.5% of the time, John McCain faithfully voted the party line in 5138 votes. Is that correct? And that only 16.4% of the time did he actually vote his conscience. While that may not make McCain a total party suck-up, it doesn\’t show him as much of a rebel either. So much for the \"Original Maverick\". Thanks, SNuss. Better luck next time.

Since B.H.O. votes party-line 95-97% of the time, bi-partisanship isn\’t too high on HIS list of attributes. McCain has a FAR better track record of TRUE bi-partisanship than any of the Liberal Left could hope to claim.
