Comments on: Keith Olbermann nails the GOP for its cynical exploitation of the Sept. 11 attacks

Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don't say you weren't warned. By the way, this blog's name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, "All politics is applesauce."

Pat, you have made me a big fan of Pollster.com and I am very appreciative of setting me straight regarding electoral votes and regression analysis of all the polls.

I gave Mccain Ohio, because without it, there is absolutely no way he even comes close to pulling off a victory.

However, a dramatic shift from 3 weeks ago for Mccain! South Carolina, North Carolina and potentially Virginia are big swings! And my state of Georgia has taken away all hope of electoral votes.

Speaking of Kaus (as I was in comment No. 7), I see that he's predicting an Obama victory in November. Check it out in the comments on The Applesauce Challenge: http://blogs.e-rockford.com/applesauce/2008/09/11/the-applesauce-challenge/

Somewhat telling Pat that NBC "experimented" with 2 opininated liberals only and BTW,being the most popular and highly paid star on MSNBC is the equivalent of being the most handsome of the 3 Stooges.

Mike: You've got it all wrong again. Olbermann and Matthews were not "demoted." It was just that the experiment of using two highly opinionated commentators as anchors on cablecasts of live political events was a journalistic failure. Actually, Olbermann was the first to propose that a change be made, and I think they made the right decision. You may not know it, Mike, but Olbermann is the biggest star on MSNBC. His ratings and his pay are both the highest on the network, and they got that way because of his sharply opinionated style. When he was more tame, he was less popular. But he's not a good fit as an anchor on broadcasts of debates and conventions, just as Sean Hannity isn't a good fit in that role at Fox. Using guys like this as commentators at these events is all right, but not as anchors. All of this aside, I thought his comment on Republican exploitation of 9/11 was spot on.

Actually, Kaus, that may be exactly what happens. Remember, the terrorists themselves have stated that they have no argument with the American people but with the American leadership, which was the GOP at the time. If the US leadership changes to a non-Republican then they might just cease. Of course, that may not happen, if the Terrorists are as angry, hateful and untrustworthy as McCain seems to be, but with Obama in office at least its a far flung possibility.

Or do we need to chase them all down and kill them all until they are dead, dead, dead? Just like we did with the Japanese, right? Oh, wait, we avoided killing them all, we let them surrender and then helped them rebuild after we nuked two of their city... Truman, that p*ssy, let 'em off easy, didn't he?

Gee guys, I guess we are supposed to forget about terrorists, they don't exist and certainly won't bother us again when Obama is in office.

That would be the one

NBC, Owned by none other than G.E the War Profiteer whose CEO,
Jack Welch walked into the NBC studios
during election night and DEMANDED that the election be called for .....George W Bush.

NBC, That bastion of Liberal thought and deed did exactly as ordered.

Now, What was that about NBC and Keith Olbermann ?
