Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

McCain shows leadership, boldly proposes a commission to study the economy

Why didn’t Barack Obama think of THIS?

I’ll tell you why: Because he wasn’t smart enough to marry a wealthy heiress, in which case he wouldn’t have had to personally worry about a troubled economy and could have suggested that some commission be empaneled to worry about it for all the commoners who are worried about it.

And he’s probably a Muslim, too.

POSTSCRIPT: McCain not only has the bold vision to recognize the need for a commission to study the economy, he also has the scientific genius to invent the Blackberry.  At least that what he SAYS.

UPDATE: This just in: McCain ALSO INVENTED cell phones and Wi-Fi. Is there no end to the man’s scientific acumen?  (Actually, there is. He says Sarah Palin knows more about energy than any other American, which is not a very astute comment.  Or was he just joking? Yeah, that must be it.)

UPDATE II: McCain was all over TV this morning, making contradictory STATEMENTS about the role and effectiveness of economic regulations.  Poor fellow. He seems increasingly confused about things.

UPDATE III: Obama derides McCain’s commission idea.:

    Yep

Barry’s resume will certainly help land him a plum Community Organizer job when he loses this election

He still has his Senator’s job to fall back on. It’s hardly been used, other than as a stepping stone.

I\’d like to know just what John McCain has for marketable job skills. Career politician? That and $2 will buy you a cup of coffee.

Yeah, there’s John the gigolo living off his wife’s money and his running mate’s popularity. Maybe he should call the Keatings for some financial expertise.

Speaking of stepping stones how’s Johhny boys first wife doing? What an honorable guy he is.

    Oh Great!
    Another study!

McCain’s starting to sound like a Rockford politician!
